When I first started lampworking and selling my beads in jewelry, many of my customers commented about the amazing color combinations in my beads. I always have a few journals going where I write and sketch ideas for future beads. When I shop I jot down color combinations from clothes, fabrics, and household goods. Anything that has two or more colors can be a springboard for a bead. Sometimes I layer clothes on their hangers to experiment with color combinations. When I am really stumped I use the new colors for each season on the Pantone list. Be adventurous and experiment with a new color combo the next time you create beads!

I’m glad to kow I’m not the only one!! The Pantone list is a fantastic place for inspiration!
Now if I were only smart enough to start myself a color journal like yours, maybe I could remember when those moments of inspiration come when I’m not at the torch!
