My husband created this large glass storage unit for me.  We used pvc ranch fence railing.  It has three square sections (each is about 1.75 inches) when you look at the end of the fence rail.  Each square holds about 2 pounds of glass. We then cut the fence rail into twelve inch long segments and stacked them on top of each other.  We were able to find the PVC fence rail at Lowe’s.
